Global Change Programme of Jadavpur University (GCP-JU) organised a lecture session with Dr. Sajjad Zohir, Executive Director, Economic Research Group, Dhaka, Bangladesh on 4th April, 2016 (Monday) from 4.30 PM to 5.30 PM at the office of Global Change Programme, First Floor, Biren Roy Research Laboratory, Jadavpur University.
He spoke on "Reconstructing the Idea of Social Business”.
Dr. Sajjad Zohir is the executive director at the Economic Research Group at Bangladesh. He has research experience of more than 25 years in the area of trade, SAM-based macro modelling, food policy, microcredit, NGO deliveries and agricultural production. His recent works take closer looks into the activities of development practitioners and the knowledge paradigm within which they operate. Dr. Zohir regularly contributed to policy making in Bangladesh, as a member of the technical committee in the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, and as a member of the Panel of Economists for the Sixth Five Year Plan there. He spent several years as an international consultant in leading MDG costing exercises in Nepal and Pakistan; preparing the first MDG country report in Cambodia; and evaluating programmes supporting national development strategies in Mongolia and Cambodia.
